International Plastic Bag Free Day – July 3rd

June 30, 2016

The introduction of the 5p charge on supermarket carrier bags in the UK has reduced their use in some areas by up to 80%, but plastic bags are still used widely in the UK and other parts of the world.

Plastic bags are made from oil, a precious finite resource and can take 100’s of years to degrade, yet on average each bag is used for only 20 minutes before being thrown away.  It doesn’t make sense to produce something that lasts so long when it will be used for such a short amount of time.

Invest in a reusable bag and go plastic free from July 3rd.
