Welcome to our  'How To' guides page. We are developing a number of 'How To' guides that will help people to run waste reduction events in their local area.

Our first 'How To' guide is one for a Give & Take Day. Leicestershire County Council ran Give & Take Days at Snibston Discovery Museum and Brocks Hill Environment Centre. They were very successful and diverted a great deal of waste from landfill.

Reusing items that would otherwise be thrown away is a great way of stopping waste from going to landfill and preserving resources.

This guide sets out clear steps on how to run a Give and Take Day event yourself, in your community. It includes everything you need to make your event a success, from posters to risk assessments.
