Community Paint Reuse Scheme
Would your community group benefit from a lick of paint?
Community groups that can benefit from paint can access a variety of types and colours for free, as part of the Community Paint Reuse Scheme. If you think your group could benefit, please contact Blaby District Council on tel: 0116 272 7555 or e-mail: env.health@blaby.gov.uk.
Do you have unwanted paint you need to dispose of?
You can take your paint to Whetstone Recycling & Household Waste Site or Braunstone Civic Centre. From there, it will be taken for sorting and storage, before being redistributed to a community group that can put it to good use. Please see below for a list of accepted paints:

The Community Paint Reuse Scheme is a great example of turning waste into a resource. Since March 2003, the scheme has:
- Redistributed over 14,800 litres of paint
- Diverted over 20 tonnes of waste from landfill.
- This year alone over 1880 litres have been re-used - over 2 tonnes.
