Foil and batteries
- Clean foil is now collected from the kerbside in the yellow lidded / 55ltr box.
- Batteries can be placed out on top of the rest of the recycling in a clear plastic bag, such as a sandwich bag.

Christmas tree collections
Christmas tree recycling drop off points will be available at the following sites from Saturday 26th December 2009, to Monday 11th January 2010:
- Countesthorpe - Co-op Car Park, Main Street
- Elmesthorpe - Village Hall Car Park, Wilkinson Lane
- Enderby - Leisure Centre Car Park (adj recycling centre)
- Glenfield - Public Car Park, Stamford Street
- Huncote - The Pavillion Car Park (adj recycling centre)
Bring your old tree along between these dates or put it out on your fi rst garden waste collection day in January.
Where's My Nearest Bring-bank?
There are lots of bring-banks located across the district. If you need to know where the nearest site is to you, contact Blaby District Council using the details below, or visit www.recyclenow.com and make use of their postcode search.
Where's My Nearest Recycling & Household Waste Site?
There are 14 Recycling & Household Waste Sites (RHWS) across the county. Often known as 'the tip' or simply as a 'CA Site', the RHWS now provide much more than somewhere to dump unwanted waste. Sites are able to take a wide range of materials, much of which are recycled or composted.
- Whetstone Waste Site is located within Blaby district and accepts a range of materials. Site address- Enderby Road, Whetstone, Leicester, Leics. LE8 6JL.
The following sites are located close by:
- Oadby Waste Site- Wigston Road, Oadby, Leicester, Leics. LE2 5JE
- Barwell Waste Site- Stapleton Lane, Barwell, Leics. LE9 8HE

Need a Waste Permit?
The RHWS are provided by Leicestershire County Council for the household waste of Leicestershire residents. Trade waste is subject to a charge for disposal and can only be taken to the Whetstone site.
Leicestershire, like many other counties, runs a permit system to ensure that only household waste is taken to the sites for free. Residents are welcome to take waste and recycling to any of the sites in a car, but if you decide to use a van or trailer over 4'6" in length, you'll need to apply for a permit.
