Leicestershire Compositional Waste Analysis

Compositional analysis is a tool used by local authorities to study captured materials from the kerbside (residual, recyclables and compost) and Recycling Household Waste Sites (residual). This allows partner authorities to make informed decisions around the development of services.

An analysis is conducted four times- once in each season. This allows seasonal differences to be taken into consideration (for example, less garden waste is produced during the cold winter months).


The most recent analysis was conducted between October 2009 and July 2010 by Leicestershire County Council. The reports can be downloaded below.
