Leicestershire Waste Analysis

Compositional analysis is a tool used by local authorities to study captured materials from the kerbside (residual, recyclables and compost) and Recycling Household Waste Sites (residual). This allows partner authorities to make informed decisions around the development of services, such as new recycling schemes, and provides valuable data for the long-term procurement project.

An analysis is conducted four times- once in each season. This allows seasonal differences to be taken into consideration (for example, less garden waste is produced during the winter).

Leicestershire County Council is conducting a new compostional analysis, to ensure that local authorities in Leicestershire have accurate data available to them. The result of the autumn analysis is now available below.
