Save money on real nappies

To help you make the change to real nappies Leicestershire County Council offer two schemes to their residents to encorage and support families who are interested in using real nappies.

Cashback Scheme

Leicestershire County Council's cash back scheme gives Leicestershire residents the opportunity to receive a £30 refund when they buy real nappies. You can download the cash back application form in PDF format and return it by post. This scheme is for Leicestershire residents only (excluding Leicester City residents, see Leicester City Council for their local schemes).

Take Advantage of our Real Nappy Lending Scheme

Leicestershire County Council offers a FREE real nappy trial kit. This kit contains 4 types of each nappy along with wraps and liners. This kit will allow you to discover which type of nappy best suits you and your child.

All we ask is that you sign an agreement and send us a cheque for £150 which we will use as a deposit (the cheque will not be banked, so no money will leave your account). A member of the Leicestershire Real Nappy Network will deliver the kit and explain how to use the nappies. After two weeks the same person will collect all the clean nappies from you and then your cheque will be returned.

When the nappies are returned to us we insist that they are washed and in the same condition as when you received them.

You must not wash them in any conditioner or fabric softener as this makes the nappies water resistant.

All nappies must be returned. A contact list is attached to the kit, which can be used as a checklist.
