Events

There are a number of events planned across the county, where council staff or members of our Waste Prevention Team will be in attendance. If you're in the area, or attending the event, why not pop over and see us?

Waste Volunteers

• Master Composters are specially trained volunteers who are experts in all things compost. They are here to help with any questions about home composting, choosing the bin for you, and can also deliver talks and roadshows at local events.
• Waste Action Volunteers have been trained to be able to give personalised advice to residents about how they can reduce waste at home through making the most of leftovers, composting and recycling.

Master Composters

Our Master Composters will be attending the following Farmers Markets on a regular basis:

• Burbage Farmers Market, 1st Saturday of the month, Methodist Church, Windsor Street, Burbage. 9am-1:30pm
• Earl Shilton Farmers Market - 3rd Saturday of the month, Wood Street, outside Co-Op, Earl Shilton. 9am-1:30pm
• Hinckley Farmers Market - 3rd Thursday of the month, The Market Place, Hinckley. 9am-1:30pm

Real Nappies

As part of the promotion of real nappies, parents are invited to nappuccino mornings - informal events for parents to find out more about real nappies over a tea or coffee.
