Think outside the box this Easter

The Leicestershire Waste Partnership (LWP) will be running a series of Easter roadshows across the County in the run up to Easter. The LWP wishes to encourage residents to come along to discuss the need to reduce, reuse and recycle their excess Easter packaging and gain alternative Easter gift ideas. We will also be displaying some of our compost bins for residents to learn how they can put their Easter cardboard packaging to good use. The roadshow dates are available in our Events page. If you can't attend one of our roadshows why not read some of the tips below.
Think Packaging!
Packaging helps to protect products and can help food to last longer, but excess packaging is a waste. Although some confectionery manufacturers and retailers have already reduced their Easter product packaging, many Easter eggs are still packaged more than they need to be. This creates 3,000 tonnes of Easter egg packaging waste each year in the UK alone. Read our Think Packaging pages to find out how you can start making a difference today.
