Partnership Conference 2008
The Leicestershire Waste Management Partnership held it's third Conference earlier this year. Titled 'Innovations Today for the Challenges of Tomorrow', the event aimed to provide delegates with an insight into a variety of waste management issues. Councillors and senior officers from Leicestershire, Leicester and surrounding counties heard presentations from speakers on a number of subjects.
The Conference boasted an excellent array of speakers which included Steve Lee (Chief Executive, CIWM) and Daniel Instone (Waste Strategy Manager, Defra). Partnership Chairman, Cllr Michael Rook, said of the event, "The Conference is an integral part of the Partnership calendar and is one of the great advantages of local authorities working together. I hope that the other delegates found the event as useful and informative as I did myself, with its particular relevance and emphasis on waste reduction this year"
Cllr Rook can be seen pictured below with the speakers during the event:

Front row: Daniel Instone (Defra), Gill Tatum (Urban Mines) and Liz Poulter (Devon County Council). Second row: Cllr Mike Rook (Partnership Chairman), Anna Jones (SECE) and Robin Hall (GOEM).
