Real Christmas Tree Recycling

Real Christmas trees can be recycled!
Please remember to remove all tinsel, lights and decorations first (along with and any pots or stands), as these can’t be recycled.
Check guidance below from your local council:
Blaby DC Christmas tree recycling drop-off points will be available at the following sites from Thursday 02 January to Friday 10 January 2020:
- Countesthorpe – Co-op Supermarket car park, Main Street, LE8 5QX
- Enderby – Leisure Centre car park, Mill Lane, LE19 4LX
- Glenfield – Stamford Street car park, LE3 8DL
- Huncote – The Pavilion Leisure Centre car park, LE9 3BN
- Narborough – Narborough Park car park, Desford Road, LE19 2EL
Blaby DC will also collect trees from those subscribed to the garden waste collection – cut trees to 1 metre lengths and put out with your first garden waste collection in January.
Charnwood BC: Real Christmas trees will be collected from residents subscribed to the garden waste service from w/c 6th January to w/c 20 January. Please present the tree at the side of the garden bin and cut trees in half if over 6 ft in length.
Harborough DC: Real Christmas trees will be collected from residents subscribed to the garden waste collection during w/c 13 January and w/c 20th January. Trees need to be cut into lengths and placed in the garden bin with the lid fully closed.
Hinckley and Bosworth BC: Residents subscribed to the garden waste collection can put their real Christmas trees, cut to a maximum of one metre lengths, either in their garden bin or left by the side of their bin for collection from w/c 6th January.
Melton BC: Residents subscribed to Biffa’s Green Waste Club can put their real Christmas trees in their garden bin for collection. Trees must be cut into lengths to enable the lid to be fully closed.
North West Leicestershire DC: Real Christmas trees will be collected with garden waste collections during January and February. Please place trees next to but not inside garden bins and cut trees in half if over 5 ft in length. Trees can be put out on their own if the garden bin doesn’t need emptying.
Oadby & Wigston BC: Real Christmas trees can be placed in garden waste collections (if they fit) or collected by the council. Please contact Customer Services on 0116 288 8961 before 3 February 2019 to arrange a collection.
Real Christmas trees can also be taken to your local Recycling and Household Waste Site (RHWS).
